The Versa represents a time when nothing seemed to be working for Maruti. That its proceedings have been relegated to the background isn’t a surprise, despite roping in the Bachchan duo. Today the Versa is bought by families who want something ‘sophisticated’ to move around in, but on a budget. Well, the Versa isn’t expensive to begin with and it has a proven engine going for it. Actually, it also has room for your grandparents and the dog and it even boasts blowers for the rear passengers. Ride quality is acceptable as long as you ensure that the tyre pressures are kept in check. Handling isn’t its strength if you keep in mind that it is a van after all. It is effectively an Omni replacement; expect that it has lost out due to poor marketing support and positioning.
