Crossing continents is not a problem for this leviathan of a SUV. And that too without breaking into a sweat. Audi’s first attempt at a pure off-roader has been a success and the Q7 is probably the most recognizable Audi in India. With a turning radius that rivals the best sea fairing oil tankers the Q7 doesn’t shy away from exhibiting its size. Despite its size it’s a neat handler provided you don’t push it too hard Quattro can only help that much. Tick on the adaptive suspension on the options list and the lack of proper 4WD lockable diffs will be hardly missed. While three engines are on offer it’s the 3.0 TDI that forms the chunk of its sales and is the better choice if you want some economy. The V12 TDI isn’t available just yet. The QT is an ideal buy for those with large families and the need to make a statement. So much metal for relatively reasonable money has got a whole meaning.
