BMW M3/M5/M6

No BMW lineup in any country is complete without the M models. And BMW India is no exception. The triumvirate of the M3, M5 and M6 are available with your local BMW dealer, for a price that might seem unreasonable. But then these were never reasonable cars. Not on your limbs at least. The 4.0 liter V8 on the M3 coupe and cabriolet for instance (saloon not available just yet) produces a foot stomping 420bhp. Get cheeky and it will take you to 100kph in 4.6 seconds, with top whack restrained to 250kph. The MS and M6, based on the 5 and 6 series respectively feature a 5.0 liter V10 that revs like an F1 car and produces 507 bhp. You can hit the ton in under five seconds, but crucially, you can use one of seven different gearbox settings, suspension settings and practically alter the car to perform the way you want it to. While the bigger Ms are available with sequential manual gearboxes, the M3 makes do with BMW’s version of the dual clutch tranny. Fuel efficiency is not a priority here, but you will be happy to know there are no runflats either!

What it ain’t: Because M also means money.
Anything else? The AMGs that also officially available and Audi’s RS range.
