HONDA CITY

This is Honda’s latest and boy, has it got everybody racing to the showrooms. Cloaked in a 22nd century suit and power to boot, it no more just keeps the men in suits happy. Instead this one has character. For starters, Honda has provided the City with iVTEC power. As standard. That means 116bhp of power and performance number that can keep even larger cars honest. Fuel efficiency has seen a marginal dip, but that’s a small price to pay. It’s comfortable on the inside just like its predecessor, while it’s loaded with safety equipment like airbags and ABS. once again, as standard. Honda has opted for a five-speed manual and an auto with paddle shift, both of which work well with i-VTEC. You even get a USB-based stereo for the tip-end S versions that’s quite a thumper, even thought you don’t get a CD player. With most of the parts locally built, this City is more Indian than it has ever been. That means some of the iffy build quality makes its debut in the City. The only fly in an otherwise flawless ointment.
