The 3 series immediately became the best-seller in its segment within months of its assembly in India. With three engines and numerous options, the 3 series gen Mercedes C-Class, the only credible competition started to look old. While the 320i barely managed to attract attention of people, it was the 320d and surprisingly, the more powerful 325i that warmed Indian hearts. The fact that early this year, BMW even brought out the 320i and 320d Highline with added power only went to show that BMW were viewing India seriously. The nice sporty driving setup, coupled with powerful yet efficient engines have been the reasons for its success. It’s also loaded with kit with the 320d Highline receiving all the features from the 325i such as iDrive and TV. The new 2009 BMW 3 series has just gone on sale in Europe with a restyled nose and some more features including powerful engines. Expect it in the first half of 2009.
